NYAJHP WELCOMES MIKE COSENTINO ON BOARD AS THE NEW HEAD COACH OF THE PREMIER TEAM

Mike Cosentino enters his first season with the New York Aviators as the Head Coach of the USPHL Premier team. Mike spent the past year as the interim head coach and assistant general manager of the Elmira Mammoth professional hockey team, who compete in the FPHL, a single A pro league. Mike has also coached in the past for the Old Bridge Knights, the Brick Hockey Club, Swain's Hockey Skills and Development and Norwalk High School in Norwalk, CT. Mike's roles have ranged from head coach, to assistant coach, to goalie coach for these organizations.
 
 
Mike is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. He played youth hockey for the New Jersey Titans AAA programs. He also played varsity hockey and baseball for Red Bank Catholic High School. While at RBC Mike won a conference championship in hockey as well as being named a conference first team all-star, in addition to receiving MVP for the varsity team. Mike then went on to play junior hockey for the Philadelphia Revolution of the EHL. Mike then played NCAA college hockey for King's College and Neumann University. After his junior year, Mike received the opportunity to play professionally in the FPHL for the Watertown Wolves. Mike played pro hockey for three years in the FPHL, and while he was there, he received 2 call-ups to the SPHL and ECHL.
 
 
Mike brings a host of knowledge and experience to the Aviators. Mike's coaching philosophy is that success comes from consistent improvements every day, which lead to big changes over time. He believes that attention to detail and consistent discipline will provide players with an efficacious junior hockey experience. Mike looks forward to helping each and every player achieve their goals both on and off the ice.
